OUR PHILOSOPHY

WORKING TOGETHER TO DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO REACH YOUR POTENTIAL

Gumtrees are strong, resilient trees, usually springing up after bushfires. In the same way, people with disabilities show a resilience and strength often borne of hardship. At Gumnuts Therapy, we know that the strength of a tree lies in its roots - we support our clients to help them grow & reach their potential.

We want to help our clients move and participate so that they can get the most out of life. We know that this looks different for everybody - we want to hear about what's important to each client and their family. We will work as a team to set goals and make them a reality.

CLINICAL APPROACH

Health, Movement, Wellbeing

Just as the strength of a Gumtree depends on its roots, at Gumnuts Therapy we focus on developing the foundations for movement.

More than just working on muscle strength and length, we believe the key is in harnessing neuroplasticity and motor coordination to move in a way which broadens our client's movement repertoire.

We focus on understanding the perspective of our clients and helping families to do the same, so that the benefits can carry on beyond the clinic.
